We are currently working in a new theory on the relationship between chronic stress and the aetiology of neuropsychiatric disorders. We hypothesize that stress, endocannabinoids, and polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) are a system in the brain, which is susceptible to our lifestyle and diet. We study this system in animal models susceptive and resilient to depressive- and anxiety-like behaviors to understand the neurobiology of mood disorders.
We develop nutritional supplements (nutraceuticals) with anti-stress properties that improve the antidepressants therapeutc action.
